I think I might be able to clear up a point of contention amongst Democrats who seem to be upset at Bernie supporters who refuse to vote for Hillary.
Many of us Bernie supporters (certainly myself), are NOT Democrats.
We are Independents and registered as such.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Here’s what actually happened in our eyes. We came to the Democratic party to support a specific candidate that we believed in. When we got to the Democrats, it was the old “Bait and Switch” routine. We found a corrupt committee propping up Hillary, blatantly so, with VERY strong indications of fraud. (Stop reading and flip a coin until you get heads seven times in a row. Go ahead, it’s important that you understand.)
Next add in the whole “super delegate” shenanigans, and we’ve already had enough.
The party chose to break its own rules, failed to recognize the 13 million extra supporters in the room, and push a candidate that most people simply don’t trust. And it’s no surprise that we didn’t trust her. There are hundreds of polls and research data showing that Hillary is not trusted, perceived as criminal, and unwilling to do something as simple as release speech transcripts even as a show of good will. (I don’t even need to mention the whole “lying to the FBI” debacle, etc.)
So, Democratic Party, you blew it, and most likely, the election. And you have no-one but yourselves to blame.
